So for those as challenged as I am with making any drinks beyond mixing one juice with one liquor (what more do you really need)... I have a new recipe for you.
I was terrified to make a big group a cocktail or punch that had more than two steps but I put my big girl undies on and sucked it up....
AND IT WAS GREAT!
Sour Apple Sangria
1 bottle of Reisling
5 apples cut into bight sized pieces
1/4 handle of sour apple vodka
1/4 bottle of Sprite
Mix it all together except for the Sprite and wait at least 5 hours. When the time is right add the Sprite and get wastey :)
Worst case scenario... get everyone drunk on something else first... then they wont even know. :)
The recipe I originally got was on pinterest and was for peach sangria... unfortunately I couldn't find any peaches in the store and had to improvise.

Home of the Free Because of the Brave
After the latest attack on innocent people in Boston I realized something...
I have come to expect it.
I have grown up with some horrific attack happening every year or so (Columbine, 9/11, VT, Connecticut, Boston.... the list is huge). As a result, I have come to accept that there are people in the world who want nothing more than to hurt you or kill you. Whether it's because of your gender, your race, your religion, your citizenship... it doesn't matter.
What I have also found is this... Each time something horrible happens it makes me proud to be a part of a country and society that immediately rallies together and has an unbreakable spirit. It's something you can't put words to... it's who we are as Americans.
While there are countless negative things that people can say about America as a country and its people (not saying they aren't true.. no country is perfect)... It's how we react to these events as every day people that matters. I don't want to get into how the gov't reacts or anything political.. I just think it's amazing how many ordinary people you will see acting as heroes, stepping up when needed and banding together.
Also, of course I care when something happens in other parts of the world. When an earthquake happens in Pakistan or a bomb kills 40 people in Iraq... I feel for every innocent person put through a tragedy. But earthquakes cannot be helped and there is a war going on in Iraq. This tragedy happened to people I can identify with, therefore I feel this more deeply. It's not a bad thing to feel that way.. it's human nature.
That's as deep as I'll get ;) Just proud...

Shedding for the Wedding
So, like 99% of all women, I want to be in the best shape of my life on my wedding day. That day is getting crazy close, crazy fast. Soo... I am going back on the Dukan Diet. It was really effective the last time I tried it (7 pounds in 1 week). Unfortunately there is barely any variation in your daily diet... I got sooo sick of it that I would rather not eat at all than eat another piece of protein... Anorexia is not my style and doesn't look good on anyone... so I took a Dukan Diet breather and then promptly gained all of the weight back:( Whomp.
ps Don't get me wrong... I am more of a carnivore than the average person. Anyone would get sick of just meat and veggies every single day. It also makes you pee every two seconds... TMI?
This time around I'm just going to make myself stick with it! Yay for being vain! Wish me luck!

Woopsies
So I missed the entire month of March... my bad.
All that really happened was some March Madness, depression over my horribly inaccurate bracket, and a job promotion.
Now that I have taken a promotion at my current job and called off the search I am crazy busy. I used to always get annoyed when people complained about how busy they were because 99% of the time they had way more free time than I did... now I just don't even care. I don't have time to care...
I found this video and thought it was hilarious! I will also never be going to a water park... ever again.
I could not stop laughing hahahaha
